QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
Q: When is the RSVP deadline?
A: Sooner than you think! No seriously, we would love to know before August 17th, 2023 so we can start making final arrangements!
Q: How do I RSVP?
A: Please send back the card in your invite. If snail mail is not your thing, you can call, text, or email Collin or Tee! Make sure we reply back! :) We'll ask for dietary restrictions and your preferred name to place on the table!
Q: Can I bring my dogs or other pets?
A: We love dogs (and other animals)! However, they are not allowed at either the ceremony or the reception with the exception of service dogs (emotional support animals not included). :(
Q: Can I bring a +1?
A: Names on the envelope / invite indicate who is invited. We would like to celebrate with our nearest and dearest and to keep strangers to a minimum. We are also aware a wedding is way more fun with people you know and have planned the guest list so that everyone should have a friend or family member there. If you would like to request a +1, please let us know and we will see what we can do!
Q: Are my children invited if they weren’t listed in the invitation?
A: While we love little ones, we have currently limited our invitations to children 10 and older, or those that we know very well ourselves. We are doing our best to avoid anything that would disrupt the ceremony or the enjoyment of the other guests and we are also limited by venue capacity.
However, if this makes it difficult for the rest of the family to attend (particularly for our guests outside of SoCal), and/or you are confident that your child can sit quietly for over an hour (or you are okay taking them out of the area should they get fussy), please let us know!
Q: Is there assistance available if I have trouble walking to the ceremony site?
A: Yes! Please let us know beforehand if you have trouble walking, or if you use a wheelchair, crutches, etc. The staff on site can open the gate for you to drive up directly to the ceremony amphitheater for drop-off (and pickup after!). Only one vehicle can come inside the gate at a time, but we want to make sure everyone that wants to use this option has a chance!
Q: Will there be an open bar?
A: Yes! We'll have an open bar between the hours of 6PM and 11PM. There'll also be bottles at a separate drink table for you to pour yourself if you do not want to get in line at the bar!
Q: Will there be a dance floor?
A: Yes! Bring your dancing shoes!
Q: Can I make a speech / toast / announcement?
A: If you'd like to say something, please inform us beforehand! We want to give the MC time to prepare for you~
Q: Is the ceremony and reception indoors or outdoors?
A: The ceremony will be held outdoors and the reception will be indoors. In case of rain, we'll move the ceremony to the reception spot! However, due to limited capacity, it might look silly! Hopefully it won't rain!
Q: What do we do between the ceremony and reception?
A: After the ceremony, we'll be taking photos at the ceremony site. After that, it's about a 30 minute drive to the reception site where we'll start with cocktail hour at 6 and continue the night with dinner.
Q: I have dietary restrictions! What do I do?!
A: Please message us with your restrictions as soon as possible and we'll find out if the chef can accommodate you! If you don't tell us, we won't know. :( If you want to bring your own food, just let us know beforehand so we can tell the restaurant (don't want to give them a health violation...)!
Q: What should I wear?
A: Cocktail attire or cultural formal wear, such as a kimono or qipao~ The ceremony is outdoors, and requires a short walk over a slightly uneven dirt path from the parking lot. It's recommended you don't wear your shiniest shoes or highest heels here. The reception will be indoors.
For men, a button-up shirt and slacks are encouraged. You may wish to wear a jacket and/or tie to the reception as well, though it is certainly not required. Suits are also very welcome if you’d like to look extra sharp!
Above all else, we want you to be comfortable, so please feel free to dress a little lighter if it’s looking like it will be a hot day out, or to adjust to any other conditions. No one is going to point you out for what you’re wearing (other than to compliment you!), unless it’s something really extreme!
Q: Will the bride and groom take a shot with us?
A: We still don't drink, but we'll take a shot of Martinelli's with you! ;)
*Note: It's been informed that years ago, a wedding shot may have been promised, so there may be one alcoholic shot...
Q: Do you need any help with anything?
A: OH BOY, DO WE! If you'd like the volunteer some time the day of the event, no matter how small, please contact us and we will gladly take you up on your offer. :3
Q: I have a question not listed here!
A: Please text, call, or email us! :)
Q: I don't have any of your contact information!
A: Oh no, you don't? That's wild! You can text Collin at 714.805.8343, Tee at 657.221.7557 or email us at CollinTeeOgata@gmail.com.
